If I had to choose my favorite moments of Holly and Matt's wedding day, it would be the family moments. Every portion of their wedding day echoed the love they have not only for each other, but for their new family. From the time when Holly's mother delicately buttoned the back of her daughter's bridal gown and the moment where Holly's father saw her for the first time... to the heartfelt speech that displayed how much Matt cares for his sweet mother. From the laughter to the tears, every moment was so, so special.

Where to even begin with Sam and Stephen! Travel with me, if you will, to a bar in New Orleans just over three years ago. Two Ohio natives far from home found each other, and their lives would never be the same. A stronger couple would be hard to find, as Sam and Stephen have stood by each other through thick and thin and serve only to steady the other. Sam's laughter lights up the room, and most often, Stephen is the one to make her laugh. Capturing their wedding day was an honor and a privilege, and I can't wait for you to see their story!

Best of 2017 | Weddings

In 2017, twenty-two incredible couples chose me as their wedding photographer. Some of the weddings were big, others small; some were at swanky country clubs and others at trendy downtown locations. In addition to Ohio, I had the opportunity to photograph weddings in Kansas City, Chicago, Virginia, and Maryland. Twice I played double duty as bridesmaid AND photographer, and nineteen of those twenty-two venues were locations I'd never shot at before. I'm truly amazed at all the opportunities that came flying at me in 2017, and I can't wait to see what happens in 2018!

But before we close the chapter on 2017, I want to take a look back and say thank you to every bride and groom who trusted me to capture your memories. I wouldn't be where I am without you, and your stories are what inspire me to stay in this profession. The celebration of marriage, the joy of sharing your most important day with your closest family and friends, and those tiny details that tell your love story... those moments are the most precious, and through those moments your memories come to life! Our Trip to Ireland!!!

Ya'll, we went to IRELAND!!!!! We landed back in the United States almost two months ago but it still feels like yesterday, and this trip opened up a whole new bucket list of worldwide travel for us. I have a feeling our passports are going to have a few more stamps on them before too long!! But before we talk about our next trip, first I'm so excited to share this one with you! Despite the fact that we visited Ireland in November (about when Ohio is starting to turn brown, and everyone warned us how cold and rainy it would be), the landscape did not disappoint. It was green everywhere, accented with stone walls and buildings that seemed as though they had existed forever.

Cranberry & Gold Winter Wedding | Scioto Reserve Country Club

Jessica and Luke's wedding day was a such a joyful one, with every detail coming together perfectly and a celebration that continued all night long. With their wedding taking place less than two weeks from Christmas, their color palette of cranberry, gold, and forest green blended perfectly with the beautiful Christmas decor already adorning the venue entryway. Greenery surrounded delicate floating candles atop gold textured tablecloths, and the beautiful blooms provided by Madison House Designs tied every piece together. It was the perfect evening, and all that is before even mentioning the reason for the celebration-- the bride and groom!
